About me
MATTHEW (MATTY) CHANG is a Cambodian-Chinese-American filmmaker inspired by the delicate and moving stories of underrepresented communities, such as his own family’s experience escaping the Khmer Rouge. He graduated from Harvard University in 2023 with a degree in film production, where his thesis was nominated for a Thomas T. Hoopes Prize for outstanding senior projects. His short films have screened at numerous festivals including the HollyShorts Monthly Screening Series and the DisOrient Asian American Film Festival of Oregon. His feature film scripts have placed in numerous competitions such as the Final Draft Big Break Competition, WeScreenplay Feature Lab, and the Sundance Development Labs. In addition, he has worked at companies such as Creative Artists Agency and Anonymous Content.
Matty is currently in development for two feature films, with production slated to begin in December 2025 and June 2026 respectively.
